Why I do this work
I spent 20 years listening from my head.
For 20 years I worked in recruitment, executive search and business leadership. I held Director and COO roles, and I co-founded a boutique executive search firm.
As a headhunter, I listened from my head. I was there to assess. Is this person right for this job?
I sat across from a lot of very successful people. Over time I started noticing what sat behind the success: the identity built around it, the beliefs driving it, the relationships under strain, the ambition and the fears that usually go unsaid.
Many of them were stuck in the same loop. Push, strive, criticise, carry, achieve, push harder, then hit the ceiling. From the outside it looked like they were doing brilliantly. From the inside, everything depended on them.
What moved me from search into coaching was seeing how much of what people experience comes from how they see themselves. That changed everything.
Coaching taught me a different kind of listening: deeper, and with no verdict to reach. That shift changed my work and, honestly, a lot more besides.
From the outside, they were doing brilliantly. From the inside, a lot more depended on them than anyone could see.
It doesn't have to be that way. That's the work I do.
How I work
Deep work, with the whole person.
You're not a project to be fixed.
You're capable and you have agency. My job is to help you find your own answers, not to hand you mine.
Not blame. Agency.
Coaching helps you see your own part in a situation without turning it into blame. If I can see my part, I can change my part.
I work with the whole person.
Not just the role, the targets or the next promotion. Who you are behind the success matters, because that's where the real change happens.
Not everyone needs coaching, or is ready for it.
Some people aren't ready, and pushing them isn't coaching, it's selling. If it isn't the right time, I'll tell you.
I keep my practice small, around twelve clients at a time, usually meeting fortnightly over a sustained period. That gives us the depth this work needs.
What I bring
I understand business from the inside.
I understand business from the inside: leading teams, running operations, building a company, and the weight of carrying it. I've worked closely with founders, business owners, MDs, CEOs and senior leaders for most of my career, so I know the pressures you're under because I've seen them up close and lived some of them.
That commercial grounding sits alongside the depth of the coaching work. We can talk strategy, and we can talk about what's really going on underneath it.
You don't need to become less ambitious to have a nicer life. Very often the next level is less about becoming more and more about coming back to who you already are.

Outside work
Settled, steady and sure of myself.
Outside work, I love reading, singing and laughing. I have a wonderful family, extended family and friends, and an amazing dog.
I'm raising a family while building this business. If I had to describe my life, I'd call it one of being settled and self-assured, and I'm very grateful for it.
Let's talk.
If something here resonates, the next step is a conversation. No pitch and no pressure, just an honest look at where you are. If coaching isn't right for you right now, I'll tell you.
Thoughts on business, life and being human.
